MMB Networks to accelerate Icontrol Networks’ OpenHome Labs incubator program, with free development tools and support services for hardware startups.
Toronto, ON – September 8, 2014 - MMB Networks, the experts in ZigBee, Icontrol Networks, and OpenHome integration, are excited to announce availability of the Openhome Development Kit at TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2014.
The kits are powered by MMB’s drop-in hardware and embedded software platform, RapidConnect. RapidConnect enables connected home product developers to rapidly bring ZigBee products to market that are compatible with major platforms including Icontrol Networks.
Last week, Icontrol Networks and Indiegogo announced OpenHome Labs, an incubator program that helps connected home startups succeed by accelerating their development and go-to-market process. MMB is supporting OpenHome Labs by providing thousands of dollars worth of hardware and services to Labs participants. This includes OpenHome Development Kits for companies that sign up, and support services such as design consultation, integration support, and pre-certification testing, for successful campaigns.
“MMB Networks strongly believes in innovation and entrepreneurship within IoT and the connected home,” said Daniel Moneta, CEO of MMB Networks. “We’re very excited to be part of OpenHome Labs program and to help hardware startups get their product to market quickly — and there’s no better place to do that than at TechCrunch Disrupt.”
“Our OpenHome Labs program is focused on ensuring connected device start-ups succeed in getting to market, and MMB's development resources will help them do just that,” said Jason Domangue, Vice President of Ecosystem Development for Icontrol Networks. “We are excited to partner with MMB to drive connected living innovation on our OpenHome platform.”
One of MMB’s partners, Zen, is already part of the Labs program. Zen is a simple, beautiful connected thermostat that doesn’t think it’s smarter than you, and has already exceeded its crowdfunding target in a matter of days.
“MMB has been a fantastic development partner. Beyond just hardware and software tools, MMB’s knowledge of the connected home market, and world-class technical team, have rapidly accelerated Zen’s opportunities and success. ” - Michael Joffe, Founder, Zen Within
MMB Networks will be launching the OpenHome Development Kit in TechCrunch 2014’s Hardware Alley, alongside Icontrol Networks, Openhome, and Zen.
