WSK10 Getting Started

Troubleshooting & Technical Support

At MMB Networks, we are committed to ensuring your WSK10 deployment is seamless and reliable. Whether you are in the initial development phase or managing a large-scale rollout, our support resources are designed to resolve technical challenges quickly.

Common Troubleshooting Steps

If you encounter connectivity or performance issues, please review these primary checks before escalating to our support team:

  • Power & Status: Ensure the device is receiving stable power. Check the LED indicator patterns (Refer to the WSK10 LED Guide) to identify the current network status or error codes.
  • Network Provisioning: Verify that the device is within range of the gateway or neighbor nodes. Ensure the correct Network ID and Security Keys have been provisioned.
  • Interface Connectivity: For module-integrated designs, check the UART/Serial interface baud rate and hardware flow control settings to ensure communication with the host processor.
  • Firmware Version: Ensure your WSK10 is running the latest RapidConnect or Wi-SUN firmware to benefit from the most recent stability patches and feature updates.
  • Reset Procedure: If the BRD41 device becomes unresponsive, hold the reset button for 10 seconds. The LED will indicate a reboot once the process is complete?

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What wireless protocols does it support? While optimized for Wi-SUN FAN 1.0, the WSK10 hardware is built on a high-performance Linux core (Raspberry Pi CM4), allowing for versatile connectivity including Ethernet, RS485, and optional 4G/LTE expansion.
  • Can I customize the WSK10 for my brand? Yes. MMB offers customization options for high-volume deployments, including branded top-panel printing, custom enclosure colors, and programmable LED behaviors to match your product ecosystem.
  • What is the typical range of a WSK10-based network? As a Wi-SUN mesh device, the range is highly dependent on the environment. However, Wi-SUN is designed for long-range outdoor applications (often several hundred meters between nodes) and excellent sub-GHz penetration through obstacles.
  • How many nodes can a single WSK10 Border Router handle? The WSK10 is designed to manage up to 1,000 nodes in a mesh configuration, making it ideal for large-scale utility, smart city, and agriculture projects.
  • How do I update the firmware? The WSK10 supports Over-the-Air (OTA) updates. You can push firmware images to the Border Router via the Ethernet or LTE back-haul, which can then be propagated across the mesh network to end nodes.
  • Does the WSK10 require a specific power supply? The unit is industrial-ready and supports a wide input range: 12-24V AC or 9-36V DC via a 2-pin terminal block. It is also Din rail mountable for easy installation in electrical cabinets.
